Las juntas de buen gobierno y los caracoles del movimiento zapatista: fundamentos analíticos para entender el fenómeno

El artículo analiza a las Juntas de Buen Gobierno y los Caracoles; instituciones creadas en 2003 por el Movimiento Zapatista, en el sureste de México, para llevar a la práctica su autonomía. El artículo se expone en tres apartados. En el primero se hace una cronología analítica del zapatismo y se plantea el concepto de “Movimiento Zapatista” para caracterizarlo. En el segundo se interpreta el significado de las instituciones zapatistas a través de fundamentos analíticos divididos en niveles descriptivo y explicativo. El nivel descriptivo muestra las líneas generales (ubicación, objetivos, actores, funcionamiento, resultados y diferencias entre ambas instituciones). El nivel explicativo interpreta al fenómeno a partir de teorías y conceptos de la Ciencia Política. Finalmente, el tercer apartado concluye planteando los retos y las vertientes del fenómeno.

The article analyses the Committees of Good Government and the Caracoles - the institutions created by the Zapatista Movement of Mexico in 2003, in order to practice their autonomy. This work will be divided into three chapters. Firstly, a chronological analysis of the Zapatismo will be presented, and the concept of the “Zapatista Movement” will be raised as to characterize the institutions. Secondly, the significance of the institutions will be interpreted by means of a descriptive and an explicative level. The descriptive level refers to the general elements of the institutions (location, objectives, actors, function, outcomes and differences between both institutions). The explicative level, again, interprets the phenomenon starting from the theories and concepts of Political Science. Finally, the conclusion raises the challenges and the future pathways.
