Por la importancia económica del Robalo (Centropomus undecimalis) y del Chucumite (Centropomus parallelus) en México, se realizó un estudio para evaluar el crecimiento de estas especies en agua dulce, en proporción de 3:2 con densidad de 12.5 peces en 7 m2. Se utilizaron 200 peces (68 robalos y 132 chucumites), que fueron pesados y medidos mensualmente durante 12 meses. Se estimó la curva de crecimiento para peso y longitud a partir de un modelo logarítmico y = abt, mientras que la relación pesolongitud se utilizó el modelo W = aLb. Los resultados mostraron un crecimiento isométrico en ambas especies, 3.02 y 3.13; para el Robalo y el Chucumite el crecimiento absoluto de longitud fue de 17.3 ± 0.74 cm y 14.9 ± 2.6 cm, respectivamente, con crecimiento diario de 0.047 y 0.041 cm, mientras que la tasa absoluta en peso fue de 183.6 ± 2.02 g y 118.1 ± 1.38 g, con ganancias diarias de 0.50 y 0.32 g para el Robalo y Chucumite, respectivamente. La velocidad de crecimiento en talla fue semejante en estas especies: 0.063 y 0.085 para el Robalo y el Chucumite, en forma respectiva; sin embargo, el crecimiento en peso del Chucumite mostró mayor velocidad que el de Robalo 0.273 y 0.179, bajo un sistema de alimentación ad libitum en condiciones de estanque de concreto en agua dulce en 365 días.
