Inglés | This article is a first approach, from thepoint of view of researchers and writers including Manuel Castells, to a project intended to analyze and interpret the process of change underway in the community of Todos Santos, Baja California Sur. The town has been influenced by the arrival of two contingents of immigrants: the first, from the United States and Canada, includes those who have purchased homes in the center of town; some with the intention of staying and starting businesses (principally the sale of real estate), or at least residing there during the autumn and winter months. The second group comes from the interior of the country, principally the communities of Acayucán, Veracruz and Ocotepec, Guerrero, and includes migrant agricultural workers employed by a Sinaloa enterprise. This immigration has introduced changes in what Castells calls the social network, or the organized social process, and new forms of social organization have appeared. The article outlines the effects of globalization on the social structure of a small, Baja California Sur community. CRISTINA PALOMAR VEREA This article is a reflection upon the evolution of a social sense coming out of social practices, and represents the applied interaction of history, anthropological investigation and narrative in order to analyze the roots of social relationships and their reproduction. The discussion makes reference to the combining of social interactions to influence the arising of a social sensibility, which in turn can be seen as a narrative text that goes beyond written rules. The philosophic work of Paul Ricoeur and Sigmund Freud, and their use of the term text are investigated, especially with regard to the meaning of dreams. | | Inglés | This article is a first approach, from thepoint of view of researchers and writers including Manuel Castells, to a project intended to analyze and interpret the process of change underway in the community of Todos Santos, Baja California Sur.
