Dichlorido{N-[1-(pyrazin-2-yl)ethylidene-N¹]ethane-1,2-diamine-²N,N'}zinc

Abstract: The Zn^II atom in the title complex, [ZnCl₂(C₈H₁₂N₄)], is coordinated by two Cl atoms and three N atoms of the N-[1-(pyrazin-2-yl)ethylidene]ethane-1,2-diamine ligand, and displays a distorted square-pyramidal geometry with the apical position occupied by a Cl atom. In the crystal, intermolecular N-HCl and C-HCl hydrogen bonds link the molecules into a three-dimensional framework.
