ESTIMACIÓN DE LA EMISIÓN DE CONTAMINANTES POR MOTOCICLETAS EN EL VALLE DE ABURRA

La motocicleta es considerada una fuente móvil generadora de gases contaminantes, dentro de los cuales se encuentran, los hidrocarburos y el monóxido de carbono que son liberados a la atmósfera. En Colombia se ha registrado en los ultimos años un alto incremento en el uso de este tipo de vehìculos aumentando por ende las emisiones, lo que ha contribuido con el deterioro de la calidad del aire, con mayor efecto en el Valle de Aburrá, por sus características topográfícas. Por otro lado la regulación ambiental es reciente y todavía no se aplica con todo rigor. Consecuentemente y teniendo como referencia la literatura internacional y las mediciones en ralentí o marcha mínima, realizadas por el Área Metropolitana, entre enero y marzo de 2006, se proponen factores de emisión para monóxido de carbono e hidrocarburos para la estimación del impacto ambiental en la ciudad.
