El pensamiento socio-político de Chávez: discurso, poder e historia (1998-2009)

En el trabajo se aborda el tema del estudio del discurso político en el pensamiento del presidente de Venezuela, Hugo Chávez Frías. El estudio del discurso se hace desde una mirada multidisciplinaria, por una parte haciendo uso del Análisis Crítico del Discurso (ACD) entendido como una revisión del contexto en el cual se produce un discurso, pretendiendo con ello entender su naturaleza cultural. Por otro lado, nos aproximamos al discurso desde el campo de la filosofía política para deconstruir el manejo que está presente en el discurso de Chávez acerca de las categorías democracia, participación y socialismo, que son claves en sus emisiones o actos del habla. Finalmente, nos aproximamos desde la sociología histórica para reconstruir y analizar el contexto socio- histórico sobre el cual se definen sus actuaciones y los diversos momentos en la construcción de su discursividad. Para ello se afronta el estudio y análisis de un conjunto de discursos emitidos por Hugo Chávez en el lapso de su llegada al poder en diciembre de 1998 hasta las pronunciadas durante la realización y triunfo en el referendo convocado para enmendar la Constitución de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela (CRBV) en febrero de 2009. Se concluye estableciendo el uso que hace del discurso como factor de convencimiento para la movilización y acción colectiva, así como la concepción y aplicación de diversas concepciones del poder y la vinculación que establece con la historia de Venezuela.

This study deals with the theme of political discourse in the thought of the President of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez Frias. This discourse is studied from a multidisciplinary viewpoint, on the one hand, using Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) understood as a review of the context in which a speech is produced, in order to understand its cultural nature. On the other hand, the discourse is approached from the field of political philosophy to deconstruct the handling in Chavez's speeches of the categories democracy, participation and socialism, which are key in his utterances or speech acts. Finally, an approach based on historical sociology is made to reconstruct and analyze the socio-historical context in which his actions and the diverse moments in the construction of his discursiveness are defined. To accomplish this, a set of speeches emitted by Hugo Chavez during the period from his rise to power in December, 1998, to those pronounced during the execution and triumph of the referendum called to amend the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (CBRV) in February, 2009, are studied and analyzed. The paper concludes by establishing the use he makes of speeches as a convincing factor for collective mobilization and action, as well as the conception and application of diverse concepts of power and the link established with Venezuelan history.
