Abstract


Job stress can be caused by organizational factors and non-organizational factors. In the organizational factor, the dimensions of organizational design affect the job-stress level. This happens because the organizational design determines how the organization or company will run its process. One of the non-organizational factors that cause stress is the personality type of the employees. This research will be examined the variables of organizational design and the personality type which affect the employee's stress level in the company. It suggests that employees' perception to the dimensions of organizational design significantly and positively affect the level of employees' work stress along with their personality type. In this case, those dimensions are formalization-authority, specialization, environment, work load-type of work, centralization-number of workers. The personality type is only considered as minor factor.


Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia :

Stres kerja dapat disebabkan oleh faktor-faktor organisasional maupun faktor-faktor non organisasional. Dimensi-dimensi disain organisasi memberikan pengaruh terhadap tingkat stres kerja. Hal ini terjadi disebabkan karena disain organisasi yang menentukan bagaimana sutau organisasi atau perusahaan menjalankan prosesnya. Salah satu faktor non organisasional yang dapat menyebabkan stres ialah tipe kepribadian dari karyawan. Di dalam penelitian ini akan diuji variabel-variabel disain organisasional dan tipe kepribadian yang mempengaruhi tingkat stres kerja karyawan di dalam perusahaan. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa persepsi karyawan terhadap dimensi-dimensi disain organisasional dan tipe kepribadiannya secara signifikan dan positif mempegaruhi tingkat stres kerja karyawan. Dalam hal ini, beberapa dimensi tersebut ialah formalisasi-wewenang, spesialisasi, lingkungan, beban kerja-tipe pekerjaan, sentralisasi-jumlah pekerja. Sementara itu tipe kepribadian merupakan faktor yang minor.
