ESTUDIO DE LA ACTIVIDAD ANTIOXIDANTE DE EXTRACTOS DE Lithraea molleoides (Anacardiaceae)

Lithraea molleoides (Vell.) Engl. (Anacardiaceae), de nombres vulgares "molle", "chichita", "molle de Córdoba", es un árbol que crece en Sudamérica, especialmente en Argentina, Brasil y Uruguay. Popularmente es utilizada como antiartrítica, hemostática, diurética, tónica y para el tratamiento de diferentes enfermedades respiratorias. En este trabajo se analizó la acción antioxidante "per se" de extractos de diferente polaridad. La actividad antioxidante se evaluó a través de dos métodos espectrofotométricos: un método directo (lipoperoxidación lipídica del ácido linoleico, FTC) y otro método indirecto (eliminación de radicales libres, DPPH). Por ambos métodos, un insoluble obtenido en el extracto metanólico presentó la mayor potencia antioxidante, seguido del extracto cloruro de metileno, la infusión (5 % P/V) y el de menor actividad fue el extracto metanólico.

In popular medicine is used as antiartritic, hemostatic, diuretic and for treatment of pulmonar diseases. In this investigation the antioxidant activity "per se" of different polarity extracts obtained from the plant, was studied. The antioxidant activity was analized on an infusion (5% W/V), a methanolic extract, an insoluble obtained from the methanolic extract and a dichloromethane extract, by two spectrophotometric methods: a direct (linoleic lipid peroxidation, FTC) and an indirect (scavenging effect on free radicals, DPPH). By the two methods, the insoluble obtained from the methanolic extract presented the major antioxidant activity followed by dichloromethane extract, infusion and methanolic extract.
