¿SE SIENTEN INTEGRADOS LOS ESTUDIANTES CON DISCAPACIDAD EN SU CENTRO EDUCATIVO? ANÁLISIS EN FUNCIÓN DEL TIPO DE DISCAPACIDAD Y ETAPA FORMATIVA

Las actitudes hacia los estudiantes con discapacidad pueden suponer barreras más limitantes para su integración social que los derivados de su propia discapacidad, por lo que, conocer como se sienten es una de las formas más directas para detectar posibles prejuicios hacia ellos e intervenir con programas hacia el cambio de esas actitudes. El objetivo del estudio consiste en examinar si los alumnos con discapacidad perciben del profesorado, de sus compañeros y de su centro educativo en general, actitudes integradoras hacia ellos. Esto se analizó en función del tipo de discapacidad y de la etapa formativa. Participaron sesenta alumnos con discapacidad de la universidad y de cuatro centros de secundaria. Diseñamos un cuestionario ad hoc al cual contestaron de forma voluntaria y anónima. Los resultados de los análisis multivariados indicaron que los estudiantes no se sienten plenamente integrados, observándose diferencias según su etapa formativa y tipo de discapacidad. Esto nos sugiere que todavía existen importantes obstáculos para conseguir la total integración de los estudiantes con discapacidad. De este modo, el contexto educativo se convierte en un asunto fundamental para proporcionar una respuesta educativa a la diversidad.

The social attitudes towards students with disability can suppose more important obstacles for their integration in the community than the derivatives of their own disability. Therefore, knowing how they feel is one of the most direct ways to detect prejudices towards them and intervene with programs to change these attitudes. This study examines whether students with disabilities perceive positive attitudes towards them from teachers, classmates without disabilities and the educative center. They were analyzed according to the type of disability and the stage of formation. Sixty students with special needs, from four secondary schools and the university, participated in this study. We designed a questionnaire to which they answered voluntary and anonymously. Multivariate analysis indicated that students do not feel fully integrated and differences were observed depending on the formative stage and type of disability. This suggests that important obstacles still exist in order to achieve a total integration for disabled students. In this way, the educational context becomes a main theme to give an educational response to diversity.
