A través del presente artículo se analizan el surgimiento y el desarrollo de la Ley Fundamental, los fundamentos de su éxito, el rol del Tribunal Constitucional Federal y su estado actual.

Intended as an interim solution the German constitution, the Basic Law, has been in force for sixty years. Having gained reputation on a national and international level this article analyzes the emergence and development of the Basic Law, the reason for its success, the role of the Federal Constitutional Court and its contemporary status.
